Contraception

We offer a full contraceptive service. Patients requiring emergency contraception will be seen on the day of request.

Test & X-Ray Results

Most of these come to us via computer links with the hospital service. Whilst we will endeavour to notify you of any serious results, you are requested to telephone or call into the surgery for confirmation of test results. Our phone lines are really busy between 8.30 a.m and 11 a.m, we do ask that if possible you call for your test results after 2p.m

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

Minor Injury Unit

We are delighted to be able to extend and improve our servcies by providing a ‘Walk - In’ service for  Minor Injury  Appointments not always necessary.

The service will enable anyone with a variety of conditions to access immediate advice and treatment.

What’s a minor injury?

The list of potential conditions is wide but includes:

 Unfortunately we are unable to deal with major trauma, head injuries, poisonings or major collapse.

How do you access this service?

• The service is available 8a.m – 8p.m, Monday to Friday, an appointment is not needed, just ‘Walk-In’ 
• There is no need to book an appointment with a GP as this will slow your access to the service.

Who can access the Minor Injury service?

Anybody can, you don’t have to be registered at the surgery.

Insurance Medicals

You may be asked by various commercial organisations e.g. insurance companies, or by government bodies, e.g. driving authorities, to have a medical examination. This is not a part of the GP’s statutory duties & for this work either you or the requesting organisation will be charged accordingly. Please note Insurance medical examinations on patients who are registered with our Practice will not be completed by your usual GP, this is to avoid any conflict of interest in the report.

Non-NHS Services / Charges.

In addition to the above we charge for various other items including letters supporting appeals, private sick notes, and some travel vaccinations. Please refer to the notices in the waiting room or ask at reception for details
